Shobdon Court Mound, Shobdon Park

In the civil parish of Shobdon.
In the historic county of Herefordshire (Modern Authority of Herefordshire, 1974 county of Hereford and Worcester).

Circular mound situated in Shobdon Park, south of the church. It has been described as a small motte, or possible belvedere mount connected with Shobdon Court. Excavation carried out by the Birmingham Univeristy Field Archaeology Unit in 1977/78 revealed a large central hollow and fifteen post holes in the disturbed upper surface, possibly representing the foundations of a post-mill. A wood-lined well or pit was identified in the northeast area. Mound now flattened.

This site is rejected as a medieval fortification or palace.
