Eaton Tregoz Camp Field, Foy

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; The Camp

In the civil parish of Foy.
In the historic county of Herefordshire (Modern Authority of Herefordshire, 1974 county of Hereford and Worcester).

Totally disappeared castle was in parish of Foy. Shoesmith gives this as one of two possible sites. Salter writes that there is are traces of a mound and bailey with indications of former stonework here. PastScape record "An earthwork originally thought to be a natural feature. Excavations suggest it is a ploughed out small motte." Commanding position overlooking crossing of River Wye. Eaton was a Domesday village which took the name of the Tregoz family, which was deserted possibly in C14.

Masonry Castle.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Certain.
Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.
