Hurst Castle
In the civil parish of Milford on Sea.
In the historic county of Hampshire (Modern Authority of Hampshire, 1974 county of Hampshire).
Artillery castle built between 1541 and 1544. Centres on a 12 sided keep surrounded by a courtyard beyond which lies the outer curtain wall and 3 bastions. Added to the east and west sides of the castle are two wing batteries constructed in the 1860s and designed to house 30 heavy guns
