Bythem

In the historic county of Hampshire (Modern Authority of Hampshire, 1974 county of Hampshire).

Nothing known of castle listed by Harvey as in Hampshire. No Bythem placenames is Hampshire or indeed the UK. There is Castle Bytham in Lincolnshire, but this is probably not a reference to this. There is also a Bytham Farm in Wiltshire, near Ogbourne St George (SU205725)which is on a ridge by Roman Road and is a conceivable castle site but I can find no supporting evidence for this suggestion of mine.

This site has been described as a;
Uncertain.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Questionable.
Uncertain remains.
