Taynton Parva

In the civil parish of Taynton.
In the historic county of Gloucestershire (Modern Authority of Gloucestershire, 1974 county of Gloucestershire).

The earthwork remains of the possible Deserted Medieval Village of Taynton Parva, a motte and bailey, the site of a church, possibly that destroyed by Royalists in 1643, and a homestead moat. The complex comprises a motte and bailey and a further ward to the south east along with outworks of uncertain purpose. The site was surveyed by the Dean Archaeological Group in 1995. The features are mostly tree-lined and are situated in pasture, although some features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs, including the swannery, fishponds, and the church platform.
