Faulkbourne Hall

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Falkbourne; Falkeburn

In the civil parish of Faulkbourne.
In the historic county of Essex (Modern Authority of Essex, 1974 county of Essex).

House built C15. Early C15 timber-framed house incorporated into hall range with crosswing of 1439-49, range to NW added 1449-94. Wing to SE of crosswing added circa 1693; C19 extensions in south angle. Originally timber-framed, red brick with roof of handmade red clay tiles. Not really defensive but was licensed in1439.

This site has been described as a;
Fortified Manor House.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Questionable.
Major remains.
