Weston Turville, Manor Farm

Also known as, or recorded in historical documents as; Weston Turvill

In the civil parish of Weston Turville.
In the historic county of Buckinghamshire (Modern Authority of Buckinghamshire, 1974 county of Buckinghamshire).

Remains of a medieval moat with traces of a rampart and outer bank. The farmhouse mainly dates from the early C19 but contains a late C15 timber framed hall within the east wing. The house may have been built by Sir Henry Colet who bought the manor in 1483/4. It was altered in C17 and C17. This may be the site of the house for which a licence to crenellate was granted in 1334 to John de Moleyns and his wife.

This site has been described as a;
Fortified Manor House.
The confidence that this site is a medieval fortification or palace is Questionable.
Cropmarks/slight earthworks remains.

A Royal licence to crenellate was granted in 1333 Jan 23.
