Little Kimble Motte

In the civil parish of Great And Little Kimble.
In the historic county of Buckinghamshire (Modern Authority of Buckinghamshire, 1974 county of Buckinghamshire).

Motte and two baileys surviving as earthworks with associated possibly later homestead moat. The island in the moat contains rubble from a Tudor building. There are a number of water control features on site dating to the mid C19. The motte is some 40m in overall diameter, and 4.5m in height. The flat summit is 20m across and 1m below the summit, the mound extends a further 20m to the south east. The inner bailey measured 50m by 20m and a second bailey 70m by 40m. There is also a homestead moat measuring 50m by 25m. The arms are 10m in width and up to 1.5m in depth.
